GIA Diamond Color Scale
The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is the most widely recognised authority on diamond grading. The GIA diamond color scale is used to grade diamonds from D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or light brown). Here is a breakdown of the GIA diamond color scale:
-
D: Absolutely colorless (Highest quality)
-
E–F: Colorless (Very high quality)
-
G–H: Near-colorless (Slight traces of warmth)
-
I–J: Faint yellow or brown tint
-
K–M: Very light yellow or brown tint
-
N–R: Light yellow or brown
-
S–Z: Noticeable yellow or brown (Lowest on standard scale)
It’s worth noting that the color of a diamond is not the same even though different platforms showcase a similar jewellery piece. These colors are hard to distinguish from a naked eye. And thus, we recommend asking your jeweler to give you all the details related to the diamond color and clarity before making a purchase
Onya uses 100% VVS clarity D-E-F color lab-grown diamonds for all its jewellery.
When comparing prices online for different jewellery. Always check to compare with same clarity, color and carat of diamond.
