Which clarity of diamonds are the best?

The diamond clarity scale is a system used to grade the clarity of a diamond, which refers to the presence or absence of inclusions and blemishes within the stone. The scale ranges from Flawless (FL) to Included (I3), with several options in between.

Here is a breakdown of the diamond clarity scale:

  • FL (Flawless): No inclusions or blemishes are visible under 10x magnification.
  • IF (Internally Flawless): No inclusions are visible under 10x magnification, but minor blemishes may be present on the surface.
  • VVS (Very Very Slightly Included): Minute inclusions are difficult to detect under 10x magnification.
  • VS (Very Slightly Included): Small inclusions are somewhat easy to detect under 10x magnification.
  • SI (Slightly Included): Noticeable inclusions are easy to detect under 10x magnification.
  • I (Included): Obvious inclusions are easily visible to the naked eye.

It’s worth noting that the clarity of a diamond is not the same even though different platforms represent a similar jewellery piece.

Onya uses 100% VVS clarity lab-grown diamonds for all its jewellery.
When comparing prices online for different jewellery. Always check to compare with same clarity and carat of diamond.

A summary to always remember while purchasing any diamond jewellery:
IF >> VVS >> VS >> SI >> I
